Founder, Educational Innovator Global Legacy Learning AcademyShakiyla Reyna Is the founder of Global Legacy Learning Academy and a Certified National Trainer in Guided Language Acquisition Design. As a recognized leader in educational innovation, Shakiyla trains teachers to utilize 21 st -century strategies that align with common core state standards, for students in grades PreK–12. With a focus on creativity and human value, she helps children achieve success through learning, resulting in an increase in their standardized test scores. Her cross-curriculum strategies can be modeled in person or online, for all levels of education, and can help students read and write on, or above grade level.These human centered strategies and her creative arts curriculum have been utilized by educational entities globally, to train educational professionals and assist students with learning, to meet standardized levels. By providing students with full access to information, research skills, and direct connections to concepts, they can learn the process of critical thinking and problem-solving, resulting in lifelong learning skills and educational success.Her personal training of teachers in the strategies, empowers them to teach and implement state and district standards and surpass student, teacher, and administrative goals. Each state and district mandates their own set of goals and standards, which she successfully implements, regardless of the knowledge and experience of teachers and students. As an Early Childhood Intervention Liaison and Inclusion Teacher for Preschool and School-age children, Shakiyla has provided modeling, observations, and behavior contracts, to support and achieve success for children and families with specific needs in Public and Private Licensed Centers. Some of her professional training focuses on the Autism Spectrum, Sensory Integration Disorders, and Team Building, and she has provided administrators and educators with training and support for children who challenge their skills.For many years, Shakiyla also served as a Lead for both Head Start and State Pre-School for the Riverside County Office of Education in California. Additionally, she is a Curriculum Specialist, Environmental Rating Scale Evaluator, and was a Manager of the National Jumpstart Program at California State FullertonUniversity; training Early Childhood Studies students on ways to increase the literacy skills of children in low-income areas. On an administrative level, her roles have included, Vice Principal, Director and Lead Teacher, for both Public and Private Schools in Kindergarten through Intermediate levels, over twenty-five years.On both the East and West Coast, Shakiyla has owned and operated her own Educational and Family Child Development Center, (Elite Education Institution/EEI) and has served as a Director, Instructor and Counselor for many Youth Groups and Summer Camps. She earned an M.A. In Human Development from Pacific Oaks College, with a specialization in Leadership in Education, College Teaching and Supporting Community and Family. She also earned her B.A. in Art Education and Elementary Education from New Jersey City University, and holds A.S. degrees in Psychology, Elementary Education and Early Childhood Studies, as well as an A.A. in Art and Early Childhood Development with a certification in Early Intervention.
